About The Role

We’re on the lookout for a seasoned HVAC professional to lead our division in the Hawke’s Bay Branch and provide day-to-day operational support to the Contracts Manager.

The HVAC Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring the successful delivery of HVAC projects. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

 

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Support the Contracts Manager with scheduling, resource allocation, and project planning in accordance with priorities and timelines.
  • Oversee and participate in the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment.
  • Ensure correct setup, calibration, and commissioning of systems according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to maintain project timelines and client satisfaction.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff to ensure productivity, technical growth, and team engagement.

 

Skills, Experience, and Education Expectations

  • Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade, Level 4) or 3 years’ industry experience.
  • Current Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence is preferred.
  • Competency across all HVAC design and build installations and able to interpret design documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Proven track record of success in a relevant trade leadership role.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence is preferred.
